How does it work?
Southview Dental Care offer a tried and tested home whitening treatment that offers fantastic results for our patients.
Before treatment begins we will prepare a set of custom-made gel trays (much like a mouth guard) that fits to the shape of your teeth and makes sure that the whitening gel can reach the areas that require treatment. Of course, we’ll also show you how to use them at home!
The gel must be applied for the next week to 10 days, and you’ll have to wear the trays overnight. Some patients find that their teeth are a little more sensitive during the course of the treatment, but these symptoms will ease quickly.
How long do the benefits of teeth whitening treatment last for?
There are a number of different factors (smoking, dietary habits etc.) that can cause whitened teeth to stain, but when teeth are well looked after, the effects of tooth whitening treatment can last for years.
Maintaining good oral health is vital, so make sure to brush two to three times each day, especially before you sleep, and to attend repeat appointments with your dentist, and a hygienist if recommended.
