Is ClearCorrect the same as Invisalign?
First things first, you’re probably wondering if ClearCorrect and Invisalign are actually just different names for the same treatment.
The short answer is, no, they’re not…but they are very similar.
Allow us to explain…
Both Clear Correct and Invisalign offer a discrete yet effective way to straighten smiles. They work by using a series of transparent aligners made specially to fit your teeth. Each of these is worn for a number of weeks and then swapped out for the next aligner in the series. Over time they gradually move teeth into a more desirable position.
With either treatment, aligners must be worn for 22 hours a day to achieve optimum results but – this is the good bit – unlike traditional metal braces they can be removed. Big date on the cards? Important work meeting? If you need to take your clear aligners out – you can!
It’s this flexibility and discrete nature of the treatment that has fuelled their popularity. Not only can you remove your aligners if you prefer not to have them in for a certain occasion, but you can take them out to eat – meaning nothing is off the menu.
The fact they can be removed also makes it easy to stay on top of cleaning. There’s no risk of food getting lodged or trapped and you can brush and floss regularly to maintain oral hygiene.
Once treatment is complete, you will be issued with a nighttime retainer. Wear this in bed to maintain the position of your teeth and ensure your smile continues to look its best.
What can Clear Correct and Invisalign help with?
Each of these treatments covers the same range of dental issues and can be used to successfully remedy:
- Gaps and spacing issues
- Crossbite
- Overbite
- Crowding
- Midline shift
- Deep bite
What is the difference between ClearCorrect and Invisalign?
Both treatments offer an effective way to straighten teeth using virtually invisible clear aligners. Both have to be worn for the same amount of time each day. Both are used to fix the same dental concerns.
Which begs the question – how are they any different?
One of the key distinctions is the material they are made from.
At face value, the aligners look virtually identical made from clear plastic but peer a little closer and you’ll find that the exact makeup of the aligners is slightly different.
ClearCorrect is made from polyurethane resin plastic. Slightly thinner, it is BPA-free and fully approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
Invisalign aligners are made from a patented thermoplastic called SmartTrack – this has been created exclusively for Invisalign treatment and is designed to make the aligners more comfortable and easier to slip on and off.
ClearCorrect plastic is tougher and offers more stain resistance, but Invisalign takes the edge with comfort – the plastic is thicker but is scalloped around the teeth, enhancing the fit and feel. ClearCorrect sits higher up the gum line but has a slimmer profile making it less noticeable.
ClearCorrect vs Invisalign cost
Perhaps the biggest factor defining these two treatments is cost.
The exact price of treatment is dependent on your individual smile – for example, the further your teeth need to move the more individual aligners you will require, so the higher the cost.
Clear Correct Cost
Typically though, the average Clear Correct treatment is around £300 cheaper than Invisalign. View our fees page for up-to-date information on prices.
Invisalign Cost
As discussed Invisalign generally costs around £300 more per treatment and unlike our Clear Correct treatment does not include extras such as teeth whitening and retainers.
That said, at Southview, we strive to keep all our prices as competitive and accessible as possible, which is why we offer personalised quotes alongside a range of finance options and interest-free payment plans.
If you’d like a personalised quote for either treatment, please get in touch.
