Guided Biofilm Therapy Kent

How does it work? 

Stepping away from the traditional – and often uncomfortable – scale and polish technique used to remove dental plaque, guided biofilm therapy is a pain-free, yet hugely effective treatment. 

It works by carefully removing any biofilm – which creates gum disease – rather than just cleaning the deposits and staining. 

Using a special coloured gel that clings to any areas of biofilm, otherwise hidden pockets of plaque are highlighted allowing for precision cleaning. 

By drawing attention to problem areas, our skilled hygienist will be able to target treatment to tackle areas that need close attention, while also raising your awareness of these hot spots to help avoid future build-ups.  

Using the special AIRFLOW® system, any stains and biofilm will be gently removed using a combination of air, water and erythritol powder spray.

For a deeper clean, to ensure no plaque is left sitting in gum pockets, the PERIFLOW® nozzle will then be used to dislodge further biofilm. 

Lastly, the PIEZON® PS will be used to gently pulsate water over the surface of teeth to remove calculus and hardened deposits. Leaving you with fresh breath and beautifully clean teeth.
